Darfur, a region in Sudan, Africa has recently been the center of mass killings of women, children, and men. The killings began in 2003 and are still ongoing to this day. Recently, over 480,00 people have been massacured and 2.8 million have become displaced from their homes. The Janjaweed (devils on horseback) are the Arab militias responsible for the genocide. They are fighting against the rebel groups SLM (Sudanese Liberation Movement) and the JEM (Justice and Equality Movement). The Janjaweed burn villages, loot economic resources, pollute water sources, and murder, rape, and torture civilians.
